Flamenco Theme 1b

This video, entitled Flamenco Theme 1b, is the second of two presentations. Each provides a different approach to the recording of an original Flamenco Theme, written by Daniel Turner specifically for the bass guitar. The theme is notated in tablature format in the accompanying score (download link below). This particular video, of a performance on an Ibanez 6-string "fretless" bass guitar, was produced using a single direct audio feed from the bass guitar's pre-amp. The single channel was converted from analog to digital in an Arturia AudioFuse audio interface before being enhanced, using a Waves JJP Bass plug-in, on a Presonus digital audio workstation. The alternate version of this video, Flamenco Theme 1a, was captured by blending two audio channels — one channel captured acoustics during the performance using a close-range microphone, and the second channel provided a direct feed from the active pre-amp of an Ibanez 6-string "fretted" bass guitar.
